@Corvus94

Have you ever left Sky in the past and then returned after being away for a year or longer because if so this might relate to an old closed account.

Re: Suspicious Email - Repayment of Credit Balance

For the sake of anyone else who comes looking at the thread.

Rang the sky call center and they confirmed I was due a refund and it was something to do with when I moved from Sky Q to Sky glass.

Also, don't bother speaking with anyone in a Sky shoo, he said delete the email and forget about it.  Glad I called the call center.

Re: Suspicious Email - Repayment of Credit Balance

Came here puzzled, an email that looks like a scam but is seemingy real??   Bit of back ground my email just mentions a £3.10 credit due, sent to my email address that is currently active with a sky q  subscription but after reading a second time the logo is for Sky mobile. My wifes mobile was with sky a few years back until they went silly with their prices. I wonder was Sky Mobile separate from Sky TV which I still have? I've been a Sky subscriber from the early days (1988!) initially via my parents and I've used various email addresses in the past 40 years between contracts and moving houses. I now work as an IT tech (jointly responsible for email) for an isp and aside for the domain they are using which I didn't even knew existed ,the email seems to check out as genuine. However this is exactly the sort of email our security team would think up as a training exercise for our staff - maybe working in tech I'm just sceptical! I think I'll give sky a ring next week and see if they'll give me my £3.10 credit maybe even they'll even credit against this month bill.

Re: Suspicious Email - Repayment of Credit Balance

Why would there be a credit on account they would just use that as part payment surely sounds suspicious

@rose0656

You've added to an 8 month old thread on which it's been confirmed as a genuine communication. If the customer has left Sky there won't be further bills for the credit to go towards.

@Bev+ward it's genuine. Give Sky a call. You may need your Sky account number.

@Bev+ward  To be doubly sure it's genuine you could always login to your account and check to see if you have a credit for said amount

@Bev+ward

It is a an email from Sky and has been sent to you as they are unable to automatically refund the credit back to you presumably because the payment details have been removed from the account.

Re: Suspicious Email - Repayment of Credit Balance

Hello! So if i've moved addresses, I wouldn't want the check to be sent to my old address. And the number in the email to call is an automated number whre I don't have the option to change address. Does anyone have a number I can call to ask them to send the check to my new address? I can't seem to have a number to call anywhere 😕

Re: Received this email and not sure if it’s a scam

This is legit. I went to my account and there was a credit for the amount stated. They just ask for you to key in your account number and they will issue a cheque to your address. So no bank account details are shared.
