It applies to Broadband and Talk only as you have 30 days to make your mind up from the receipt of the price increase. This doesn't apply to TV as the terms and conditions for this do allow Sky to increase the price we are paying once per year.

Re: Leaving Sky if not happy with price increase?

Yes I got that. But I don't understand why it applies to broadband but not TV.

Once you receive notification of the increase, either by letter or email, you have 30 days to tell Sky you want to leave.

That applies only to Sky Broadband and Sky Talk. You can't leave Sky tv.

Re: Leaving Sky if not happy with price increase?

Yes. I get that. You are one of several people who has told me this.

So once again for everyone who is clearly NOT reading my question properly:

Why. Does. This. Rule. Apply. To. Broadband. But. Not. TV?

I'd have thought it was a reasonable enough and simple question to ask. Why is it so difficult to actually get an answer?

Because they have different contract terms.  Remember, you read them when accepting the services...

You didn't ask that until I was writing my reply. The salient answer is because that's what your terms and conditions say.

Ok, I give up. I'm done here.

Easier to get blood out of a stone than get an answer out of you lot apparently.

Specifically:

"Sky Broadband is variable and our prices and Products can change, even during your Minimum Term.
However, if we reduce the level of service provided by your chosen Product and you are materially
disadvantaged by this you will have a right to move to another Product accessible by you or end this
Contract."

This clause isn't in the TV contract.

Re: Leaving Sky if not happy with price increase?

I cancelled SKY last year after they raised their charges.  I now have freeview's free channels plus ITVx which is free, but I pay for Premium at £5.99pm, I stayed with Netflix cheapie at £4.99 and I then discovered F1 TV at £2.49pm....

total monthly now £13.47pm.  I have had five communications from SKY asking me to come back at a super deal.....you have to laugh because they think SKY TV plus SKY Sports is a good deal at £40pm and they can raise their price half way through the contract,  well SKY, you are no longer a good deal on any TV packages, you are way too expensive.

I would advise all of you comng to the end of a contract to shop around, I have not mssed SKY at all and I am saving £500 a year.

I don't think it would have made any difference one way or the other to be honest.....
