Was this amendment in regards to the new deal?

Yes, it was in an email, and in My Messages, titled "Confirming your Sky Offer" when I agreed a new contract deal just over a month ago.

That wording seems out of the norm - my renewal didn't have that amendment.

As noted you'll have to query it with Sky - that wording in isolation seems to give you an argument.

Re: My Package going up £8.50 mid contract is that about average?

@Exiled-in-HH I am personally not fussed by the increase, I £9 increase to me means nothing, but for some people that's a lot of money. I don't care about T and C and how many increases can implemented per year, be fair and transparent with your customers.  As a side issue sky don't hold any customers to contracts on stream anyway - so anyone can just leave if they aren't happy, whether they are in an 18 month contract or not. I hope that some do

Something to note, that is at Skys discretion and can change at any time.

Re: My Package going up £8.50 mid contract is that about average?

I dont have a particular problem with the amount its in line with most other services increases. What i struggle with is at these premium prices should on demand have ads or should it be ad free like any other service like netflix, etc at this price point.

Also the discounts and offers are very misleading as in some discounts from sky are about £2 off a package to then sigin up to 18 months and then they just stick the £2 straight back on a few mths later, i think that is bad practice not just sky that do that but it should be better presented. Also maybe I am wrong about my point regards netflix however it still stand you sign up to netflix with sky they very much sell it together, you get upgrade Netflix ultimate 4k which is 4 devices but then need whole room as well to watch sky shows in the other room its a mismatch.

This year's price increases

I've just received the latest message of the impending annual price increase.

Sky just like all the other opertunist companies are penalising customers at a time when most people can least afford it.

How can you justify a whopping 9.7% hike to your already overpriced products?

We're a customer Community.

Nobody like price increases. I imagine Sky would say they're no more immune to the effects of inflation than you are.

Why did you sign up, if you think their products are already overpriced?

Re: This year's price increases

Because I'm stuck in an 18 month contract!

Not for much longer though🤞

Why did you sign up to service that you consider to be overpriced ?

Fixed. According to Sky this is because of a mistake in the way my agreed in-contract discounts have been applied to the new prices, and they're getting a specialist team to correct this, and my increase will now be 9½%

QUOTE:
I can see that you have £17.00 off Sky Sports applied but this offer is not being reflected correctly from April so you're being billed £15.00 off instead. I've raised this to our specialist team for the offer to be fixed for you so your monthly bill will be £46.00 monthly from April.

Not really: Netflix is found on so many other devices, including smart television sets, so the Premium subscription could be used on those, phones, tablets, PCs and so on without having any additional Stream pucks.

The reply mentions that the increases are from April, but yet mine has increased this month, is anyone else seeing this

If that has happened then you must have had a discount that has now ended so this is unconnected to the April price increase.

@Mr+Michael+P yes as increases generally happen in April ... and increases are explicitly declared when subscribing to Sky😉
