Re: Eurosport closes down, and from april they put our bills up
@Harriersfan wrote:February 28th Sky TV lost Eurosport 1 and 2. Now I always watched this and now it's gone they decide to put our bills up by a tenner. Who else thinks this is totally wrong and out of order. If not sorted out I'll be cancelling my contract
It's common knowledge that Sky subscriptions go up in April closing Eurosport 1&2 is not the reason for the price increase.
What can Sky sort out they don't own Eurosport
WBD own Eurosport and TNT Sports

Re: Loss of Eurosport
All things being equal, it is worth changing from Sky to Virgin, because TNT costs £18 per month with Virgin, rather than Sky's £30 per month.

Standard annual increase.
The channel was 'free' anyway and has been taken away by their owners to charge for it.
You won't be able to cancel if within a minimum term but feel free to call Sky and see if they will release you early.

Re: Loss of Eurosport
Your probably right, but I have paid these people a fortune over the years no new content I'm aware of. Not paying for TNT to watch snooker when it's on. Going to try other providers to see if i can get a better deal.

Re: Where has eurosport gone
I have moved your post into a thread discussing this Warner Brothers Discovery decision.
The subject was also discussed at length in this thread

One of the main reasons for getting a sky box was to get eurosport. Now it seems to have gone from the subscription and requires an additional subscription to tnt. Is this right. When were sky aware of this??
The decision was made by warner brothers discovery the channels owner not sky and was publicly announced by WB at the end of January , the Eurosport content is now on tnt sports which costs approximately £32pm extra

Re: Loss of Eurosport
Then it must have been publically announced by the invisible man because the first thing that I knew about it was on Thursday and as far as I am concerned they were two of the most important channels to me and to be suddenly expected to pay £29 to watch what was previously free to view is just a total rip off to the customer. Plus the fact why do Sky have to charge so much more than Virgin for TNT Sports. It's just ridiculous and I for one feel really let down by Sky. When a channel has been free to view on your platform for over 35 years why weren't all customers made clearly aware of this?

Re: Loss of Eurosport
Well I'm afraid I don't get a daily paper and there seems to be plenty of other people that weren't aware that Eurosport was leaving.

@AJO1963 It's not up to Sky to tell you, it's down to the channel owners (Warner Brothers Discovery) to make the info available, however there is an very extensive thread here since 28th January discussing the iminent closure.

@Stuart9964 at the end of the day it wasn't skys responsibility to inform customers as they don't own the channels, any grievances should be directed at warner brothers discovery

Re: Loss of Eurosport
Why could Sky not come to some sort of deal with Warner Brothers? and why do Sky charge so much more than Virgin media. It is easy to say that Sky aren't to blame but it seems to me they must be making something from the movement of Eurosport to TNT Sports and if they aren't why is it so much more expensive?

Regardless, you are aware now. Either pay for the necessary subscription or ask Sky if they will release you from any contract.
