Deleting my reply doesnt help the corporation or yourselves. Only to cover up the fact it is much easier to contact your bank if you think you have overpaid or been charged multiple times! I did and was easier and quicker than listening to dribble. Direct Debit/DD Guarantee is what is there for, To protect consumers from being mischarged!

Re: Bill was paid twice.

Clearly everyone just repeats themselves. (removed). I can say as much as you lot. I know what im talking about. Telling them same things you told me does not help in this situation. They just fob you off and state next bill is being produced. Or we can offer you bla bla bla. No he/she wants his money. Why is it so hard to understand. All i state is contacting bank. Why are some of you being naive in not stating the simplest and easiest thing to do. Much quicker and he/she gets on with there days. Any other companies would just tell you do this. I did and its less hassle!

Re: Bill was paid twice.

  • They've just done the same to me. I have always made manual payments on 13th of the month. I made a payment this morning and they took the same payment again this evening. Looks like I won't be buying food tomorrow because of their incompetence. This has never happened before. The payment also conveniently left my bank after the call centre was closed. So now I've got to wait until tomorrow to sort it out. They can make a bank transfer, I don't see why I should have to wait any length of time for them to put it back. Absolutely raging

@Mikeb2102 don't make manual payments unless Sky ask you to. Completely unnecessary when you have a direct debit or card payment set up, as Sky require you to.

Refunds usually take 2 to 5 working days.

Re: Bill was paid twice.

I don't like direct debits, I like to pay all my bills as soon as I get paid. I do it with every company and I've been with Sky 2 years and have always done it this way. That's what's baffling, that they decided today that they are going to take the payment again.

I don't see why I should have to wait any length of time for the money they stole. I didn't authorise them to take that payment, so I shouldn't be penalised for it. That was money I was going to use to buy food tomorrow

If you have a direct debit setup then by doing so you did authorise them to take the payment. It doesn't matter what you do or don't do with other companies because with Sky you have to have a payment setup of which Sky will take it from you each month which they have done.

They won't process a refund until the overpayment shows as a credit in your Sky account.

Re: Bill was paid twice.

I don't have a direct debit set up, I have ALWAYS paid by manual card payment on 13th of every month, just after midnight. It's one of the first things I pay and this is the FIRST time they have done this since I joined 2 years ago. So, I didn't authorise that payment

In your agreement to their terms and conditions, you've agreed that Sky can use any payment means they hold for you to claim any payment which is due.

@Mikeb2102  It's in the Terms and Conditions that you need to have a recurring payment method either card or direct debit, it's irrelevant what you do with other companies.

It seems Sky are enforcing the T&C's by using the last card details provided to them.

You agreed to Sky's T&C's when you took the service from them.  Therefore Sky have every right to use the card details provided by you to take the payment as noted in other replies making a manual payment does not stop a recurring payments nfrom being taken.

Re: Bill was paid twice.

So why has this never happened before? if that was the case it would happen every single time I make a manual payment on 13th.

Re: Bill was paid twice.

That still doesn't explain why this is the first time they've done this in 2 years. If that was the case they would do it every time
