Does anyone know if Sky are going to give us the new HBO show The Last Of Us in 4K?
It's not mentioned on the press release:
It apparently will be 4K on HBO Max in the USA according to this press release:

The UHD / HDR (if available) would be downloadable from catch up

Historically HBO on Sky hasn't been, but House of the Dragon was so that might signal a change in policy.

The Sky Deutschland press release indicates it'll be available in 4K...
...so I'm inclined to think it's more likely to be available in a UHD format here as well...

Let us hope it's is not the god-awful HLG variant that was foisted upon us for HOTD.
Proper 4K HDR please.

If we do get HDR then it will only be HLG. All of Sky's HDR content is HLG and will be for the foreseeable future. It's only the third party apps (Netflix/Prime/Apple TV+/Disney+) which can show HDR10 on Q, Stream and Glass, and Dolby Vision on the latter two.
I might re-start my HBO Max subscription anyway - I hate how Sky speed up and overly compress all their American shows.

I've just set mine to recording and it is only showing as HD, not UHD which is extremely disappointing.
Does that mean I need to pay for another subscription elsewhere just to watch in UHD? I already pay £140+ a month for my Sky Package!

£140+ per month?!?! When did you last negotiate your contract price??? That sounds way above what you could be paying.

@Debbee08 I have to agree with @SlenderRobert, £140 is way too much, you need to give Sky a call & see if you can get a better price. My bill for this month is £75. For that, I have Sky Signature for £24, Sky Cinema which includes Paramount+ for £8, HD for £6 & UHD for £4, Ultimate TV Add on which includes Netflix for £6. I also have Sky Broadband & Talk included in the £75 total. All I pay there is £26.50 for Sky Broadband Superfast ( although this will increase next month by about £5 ). Sky wi-fi, Pay As You Talk & line rental are all free. Not sure what you could have that would make your bill almost twice the price of mine, even if you have Sky Sports, surely that wouldn't account for it?

If it's not UHD & ad free on Sky I guess I will have to find a way to watch it but it won't go towards Skys viewing figures unfortunately.
Will have to go visit my friend!!!
If Sky continues to alienate themselves from the ad free market they will continue to alienate themselves from legal viewers.
they need to have an ad free on demand option to follow Amazon Apple Disney Netflix Paramount BBC ITV Channel 4.
they are an embarrassment

It looks & sounds SUPERB in 4K with Dolby Vision & Atmos streamed direct from HBO Max. I won't be bothering with Sky's turgid presentation.

I downloaded the UHD & HDR version this morning, it doesn't seem to have Atmos unfortunately.

From a VERY brief look at the HDR download on Sky this morning it does not seem to be plagued with the HLG deficits that ruined HOTD...
Nice inky blacks without a hint of purple.
Fingers crossed, and if so - well done Sky

I was going to have a look this morning to check how it compared... but my Stream remote has died for the second time so I can't actually use my puck.
HBO Max & Apple TV 4K box - I'll be sticking with you thanks very much.

May have spoken too soon. Seeing hints of purple.
HBO 4K HDR download already looking superior
