One Chicago, where has it gone?

Sky Witness brought One Chicago show, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD back earlier than normal but now it's disappeared with no episodes since Boxing Day.  Is it coming back?  Why start it early only to break it at the time the season normally begins on Sky in the UK?

For what it's worth, this is the reply from Sky

We follow the U.S for the scheduling of these series. They were on hiatus from November to January in the U.S so we are now on hiatus here in the U.K. New episodes will return after February, however a date has not been confirmed at the moment

Re: One Chicago, where has it gone?

Please can someone from Sky update us when the Chicago One episodes will be back on? I am fed up of waiting! When I try to look it up online the date keeps moving to a later time.

Thanks in advance.

It's been on it's mid season break in America and returned to air, there, on January 7th.

For the first half of the season we were around 4-5 weeks behind.

Re: One Chicago, where has it gone?

Thanks for info. I don't seem to remember the UK having the break like the US previously to these seasons - I thought they were just added each week. Are they now letting us see them earlier than they used to? I don't like it, if I'd known I would have just waited until all remaining episodes are airing.🙁

Previously to avoid the various mid season breaks they have in the states with shows, Sky would delay even showing the start of the season until later in the year which ensured they show an episode weekly without any breaks, and they would then potentially end the season a couple of weeks after it aired in the US. Seemingly Sky decided to do it differently this year so they started airing the episodes several weeks behind the US, but it has meant they have essentially caught up.

This is a typical issue that occurs for showing US shows, as US shows which are quite long, typically air in semi-irregular patterns where they don't always have weekly episodes, for example over a 8 week block, they may only air 6 episodes, and then they will typically take several weeks off completely from airing new episodes are part of mid-season breaks,

Personally I prefer the US shows airing on a delay in the UK, so a US show starting in say September, maybe doesn't start airing here until January, as i prefer the cadence of being able to watch one episode a week rather than having a collection of episodes airing for a few weeks and then a large break.

@Minime007

Usually people complain when Sky hold the series back so they can show them

in one go without a break but it does mean when they have a break we have one as well. I did see a March date for its return but not sure how accurate that was.

Re: One Chicago, where has it gone?

When this has been running for so long on sky with each new season commencing in January, we are used to it.  If we were getting it the same week as the States we have to accept their strange scheduling, but we don't.  It makes no difference if we wait 2 weeks or 2 months for a series to start, but when it starts I want it to run.

Although if we have to have a break, come on Sky, let us know when it's coming back.....

Re: One Chicago, where has it gone?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I agree I would rather wait longer and have the episodes air each week with no long gaps!

Actually that's not always been the case,

Taking Chicago Med for example,

Season 8 aired Sep 2022 (US) Jan 2023 (UK)

Season 9 aired Jan 2024 (US) April 2024 (UK)

Season 10 aired Sep 2024 (US) May 2025 (UK)

Season 11 aired Oct 2025 (US) Nov 2025 (UK)

Not all US programmes that traditionally did previously are now going to a season break in US of late it seems.

Think it's more with how the streaming world plays everything out now, rather than their previous linear channels.

The three Chicago series are though doing so.

I'm waiting on Chicago PD and Chicago Med Myself to return too. Love them both.

Your best bet to get this answered by Sky is to send an email to the Sky Viewer relations team to report it;
ViewerR@sky.uk
I have sent an email off to them Myself. Will pop back here if I hear anything.

Re: One Chicago, where has it gone?

Since you don't have subscribe to Sky for HBO/Warner Bros series or for new Warner films shortly, delaying US shows they actually have exclusive first rights wasn't viable, Doc is now close to the US it's taking a break on Sky after episode 10 , FBI season 8 is on Sky from 5th February, The Rookie also next month.
