On my iPad I have to turn the device to a landscape view to bring up further options including the spoiler.

Tried that on the phone but no joy

I apologise if my post spoilt the result for anyone and like many others it seems, I had no idea you could use a spoiler alert.

All that being said I do still believe that anyone not wanting to know the score would not click on a link that said just 'Lionesses'. and not posted until a few hours after the match ended, which was the whole reason I did not give any additional information in my heading.  Anyway I repeat I am sorry if I spoilt it for others that was not my intention.

However this is becoming a discussion on my post rather than the strange decision to plaster the result on the Home page.

Fair comment @Stephen+Mourton it's well known that Sky would have plastered it on the home screen

Same goes for anyone not wanting to know the score wouldn't turn the Sky Q or Sky Stream on

I watched it via iplayer on the FiretvStick opportunity watch Live or watch from start no spoilers

It wasn't well known to me. I turned it on and thought "what the hell?!" - how is someone supposed to navigate to the recording without seeing that?

No excuses. It's nonsense that someone should have to consider this is likely to happen and figure out some other platform to watch it on catchup because "it's well known Sky do stupid things"

Re: CONGRATS LIONESSES

Its a pretty mute point to say I'm "extending the spoiler " as you can't avoid it on the Home Screen.  My post was the next day not 10seconds after the match.

Im sorry but a sporting spoiler the following day especially a major European final?? Nah!

Re: Lionesses

@Chodley Wrote- Also; anyone else find "lionesses" a really clumsy daft nickname?

It's a nickname who cares? What's clumsy about it?

It has too many syllables/ ess sounds in it or something, I dunno. It just doesn't work. Nicknames are always snappy and short and trip off the tongue. The reds, The gunners, The toffees, Barça, BorussiaMunchenGladback.

Fair comment @Chodley but doesn't the Sky Logo top of the remote take you straight to recordings ? If set up correctly whilst the Sky Q box is in standby mode pressing the Sky Logo will turn everything on and bypass the home screen that's also well known.

Useful tip but I don't think that is well known either. I never use the Sky button.

Unfortunately not always, , the SKY button does take you directly to the Recordings screen but not if the box is in standby when the SKY UI still takes you to the home page 1st rather than recordings

Whenever i switch my Sky Q and TV on from standby i always quickly press the SKY button a few times and it ALWAYS starts on recording section (as I invariably start my viewing session with a recording).
