Lionesses

I was amazed and dismayed at Sky's decision to post on the Stream Home page 'Congratulations to the Lionesses' almost immediately after the match.  I would have thought Sky of all organisations because of their sports experience would plaster a result over the first page that comes up when you turn on.  I appreciate the sentiment but what about all those that had added it to their Playlist to watch later.  Fortunately I watched it live but I would have been furious if I had saved it for later!

Or, equally, anyone who avoided the outcome until they read this post!

Re: Lionesses

@oj01

You will notice I did not put the result in my heading exactly for that reason.  Anyone not wanting to know the result would be very unlikely to click through to see what it said.

CONGRATS LIONESSES

Congrats to the brainiac idea of practically bladdering the result of the match on the Home Screen.

A real time saver for anyone that had recorded it or wanted to watch it on catchup.

Well done for extending the spoiler (which I also complained about, incredibly stupid decision) to the forum with your thread title in the Q section.

Also; anyone else find "lionesses" a really clumsy daft nickname?

No need for the result don't you know how to use the spoiler alert@Stephen+Mourton I also watched it live but switched it off just after extra time not knowing the outcome.

Your post has the same effect as Sky splashing it on the home  screen of Stream and Q.

You can type something and then

Spoiler
hide the bit that you don't want to spoil

so then readers have to click to reveal it.

It's the little triangle icon with an exclamation point on it - 'insert a spoiler tag' on the toolbar at the bottom when you're creating/editing a post.

Oh weird. I don't have that tool on the toolbar.

Re: Lionesses

I apologise if my post spoilt the result for anyone and like many others it seems, I had no idea you could use a spoiler alert.

All that being said I do still believe that anyone not wanting to know the score would not click on a link that said just 'Lionesses'. and not posted until a few hours after the match ended, which was the whole reason I did not give any additional information in my heading.  Anyway I repeat I am sorry if I spoilt it for others that was not my intention.

However this is becoming a discussion on my post rather than the strange decision to plaster the result on the Home page.

Half of it is a discussion on someone else's much more spoilery post that got merged into this thread. I think your title was fine.

@Chodley

On my iPad I have to turn the device to a landscape view to bring up further options including the spoiler.
