Do you mean subtitles?

What sky do you have - sky q, sky+HD, sky glass, sky stream?

Follow this guide which shows how to enable subtitles across the Sky platforms https://www.sky.com/help/articles/enabling-subtitles 

 

It also provides instructions for how to enable subtitles across various apps, which each have separate settings.
