SueLynn7 I've asked the same question. Don't know the reason behind the closure

As I was suggesting above, paying for satellite distribution is increasingly unviable, particularly as the radio advertising market has largely collapsed. Chances are Bauer Media Group has decided it's no longer economically sensible to reach fewer than four out of every hundred listeners that way: legacy FM, DAB, Freeview (digital terrestrial television), online, in-app and on smart devices are where the vast majority of the audience is already.
It's perhaps worth remembering that Bauer wouldn't have been receiving any of the subscription fee which Sky charges you: only a small number of the most popular non-Sky-brand television channels are supported that way.

It's on the planet, just not Sky TV platforms. I get my fix from the radio in the house/car. I've moved your post to a thread discussing the closures which is a Bauer Media decision.

Why have these stations closed and will they come back in the New Year?

They have been removed due to the low number of people listening to radio via TV (about 4% in the latest listening figures). They won't be returning.

Media coverage does suggest there was some attempt to warn listeners, although on-screen messaging perhaps isn't particularly useful in this context...

IN the UK, one can listen to Greatest Hits Radio and many other radio channels on UK RadioPlayer on Sky Q / Glass / Stream.
Find it in the Apps section. It's free too.

FYI: In Ireland, there's the Irish RadioPlayer in the Apps section, but it doesn't carry UK channels: https://www.tvchannellists.com/w/List_of_radio_channels_on_Irish_Radioplayer

Why have you removed radio channels?? You are removing more and more channels! Why do I even still pay for sky tv? Think its time to move to a streaming service

Channels not owned by sky are not removed by sky but are taken off the platform by their owners

@Jen82 see the post marked as the answer which gives a clear explanation why, the channel owners incidentally isn't sky and they have no control over this
