we were previously with Sky for broadband and landline, then moved to Commuity Fibre for both. Unfortunatly they are unable to get the BB working with the Sky Q mini boxes so we are returning to Sky. Sky now tell us they are unable to port our landline number over. Does anyone know why? and is there anything we can do about it?

With the previous case we found that the wrong lcp was supplied by sky during the booking process which is why the orders failed
community fibre is supplied by a company called gamma and that is who the losing provider has to be selected as for the replacement order to work

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt appears that porting your number from any full fibre provider isn't currently possible. I don't know the technical reasons behind it, but to my knowledge there's nothing you can do about it, I'm afraid.

It sounds like community fibre don't have a porting agreement with sky so it can only be ported out and not back in, did sky originally supply your number or was it provided by a different range holder like bt as they could also be blocking the port order

Sky had our landline number originally and then it was taken over by. Community fibre. We're just trying to "undo" that

Hi I moved from Sky to Community fibre what a nightmare trying to revert back to Sky. I am hoping I can keep my landline number. Please advise what can I do to retain my number which I had for several years. Any advise most grateful

thanks to Mormegil above our case has finally succeeeded after multiple attempts. You need to speak to the Order Recovery Team who should by now be aware of this problem. Mormegil reported it to the IT department who implemented a "fix" for the Community Fibre landline port. Try again! don't give up!
