hi i have a sky package for TV and broadband but i would now like to have a landline phone what do i need to do

Do you currently subscribe to Sky Broadband and Talk (Talk is Sky's landline phone service)?

Just to add - depending on when you joined Sky broadband, you may need to plug your phone into the back of your broadband Hub, rather than the wall socket. If there's phone socket at the back of your Hub, try that first. Otherwise try the wall socket.
Alternatively you may find your phone number in the phone section of your online Sky account.

Perhaps be aware that if you haven't opted to add a Sky Talk element to your Sky Broadband subscription, the default PAYG option means actually making outbound calls at any time of day or night is unpleasantly expensive even though it's VoIP under the hood.
