Line Rental ?

Hello Everyone,

I have just begun a contract for a basic Sky broadband package. Telephone landline calls are charged as 'pay as you talk' in this pack.

Having done some further reading I have read about a  £18.99 line rental cost.

I do not frequently use a landline but due to my area having sketchy mobile signal I chose a package where I could use a landline if need be. However I don't want to pay £18.99 for that privilege.

Will I have to pay this line rental and if so when will I have to pay it?

Thanks everyone in advance

Elliot

Line rental is included in the cost of your broadband service. There's nothing extra to pay.

Oh perfect.  I never knew that such a large proportion of the monthly cost was line rental.

Thank you for your quick response.

Essentially that's the cost of Openreach creating, maintaining, extending and upgrading a national phone/data network, including the rollout of optical infrastructure to replace a century of copper wire.
