My daughter as a broadband and tv package with sky. She has never had a landline phone. She now needs a lanline. I assumed that with her having broadband she would be able to connect a lanline phone and that it would work but when I connected her phone it doesn't have a ringtone. Does she need to contact sky to activate it?

Does you daughter's broadband Hub have a 'Voice' light which is lit? If so, the phone must be plugged into the socket at the back of the Hub, not the usual wall socket.
