You can downgrade to the Pay as you Talk package which has no monthly subscription. You just pay for any calls you make - so no calls, no charge.

I have the landline, but use another broadband provider. Am I paying for broadband, because it is a package with Talk telephone?

You can only have one broadband provider and that normally has talk also attached to this unless you have two of them separate. Which could have been done years ago, but is being phased out.
