unauthorized card message

Spoke to someone at sky to get a replacement card for my HD+ box, they tried to get me on the Q box but not interested,so they agreed to send me a new card.takes 48 hrs .

In the meantime,2 hrs later , I'm getting a unauthorised viewing card message and cannot get into any sky programmes.

What's going on,have they switched my card off ?

Anybody help .

Should have come here first 🙂

The brownish mark on a viewing card is normal it is caused by the resin that welds the card together and it is just a discolouration and nothing to do with heat/burning

You'll now have to wait for the replacement card as you old one cannot be reactivated

The only reason to order a new card is if you lose or damage the existing card thus the card you have on your account gets automatically disabled once the replacement is ordered

So why do you need a new card if the existing one was working?????

I believe when you order a replacement Viewing Card the one it's replacing is deactivated.

Re: unauthorized card message

Cheers that's great info.

Nice to get a straight answer

At least now I know it's been deactivated.

Re: unauthorized card message

My card suddenly stopped working at 9.30this morning  - and so did my neighbours. I rang after trying the reset (6 times in all) as they demanded, but no joy.  They want me to have Sky Q which I tried to get but live too close to trees to get the required signal. The lady eventually ageed to send me a new card and also a Sky installer to check if I can get Sky Q!!  I doubt very much if the new card will work as I feel we are being tuned off to make us get Sky Q or Glass (which I cannot accomodate in my small sitting room).
