"You will lose all Sky channels soon" message

Hi,

After months of Sky ruining my viewing with its incessant pop-up message stating I will lose all BBC channels on January 8th (as detailed in this thread), the message has now alarmingly changed to "You will lose all Sky channels soon"!

I contacted Sky about this issue previously and they were rude and unhelpful, with one customer service agent even suggesting I go elsewhere!

I would like to know if there are any others with this issue and what I can possibly do to end these messages. Can I change a setting on my account somewhere to reflect that I have an HD+ box to prevent these messages? Can anyone reassure that I will not indeed lose "all Sky channels" or even explain why a message would say this when I pay my subscription and can view HD channels? I was hoping these messages would end after January 8th, not become more threatening!

As you have a Sky+HD box, you won't lose any channels when the changeover occurs. Unfortunately there's no setting to prevent the message being displayed.

That was specifically for the end of BBC SD satellite carriage and rather sensitive because of BBC and Sky PSB obligations: the current message refers to a separate process initiated by Sky.

Sky is reconfiguring some SD services to run on DVB-S2 transponders. This means that older DVB-S only receivers – i.e. the original generation Sky digiboxes and Sky+ boxes will cease to receive services.

If you have a really old SD box then this would apply:
