Where is channel 953 gone bbc north west ?

Still there for me.  As suggested by @caesarome you don't see the Channel that you get on 101 within the 950 range.

101 is bbc but the news is London rather than the north west. E g the local news. All the other stations seem to be there still but not north west

I take it you live in the north west rather than in London as the local region on 101 is set by your postcode on your Sky account.

@SteveA16 What is the exact channel name of your 101?

For example, mine is BBC One Yks HD

I then don't get that channel on 954 but can see all the other 950 regions.

Thank you I think I understand what you both  mean - I will check whether 101 shows the local news for me, however my ma and pa do not have a sky card but they have a sky box to receive there TV

Yes on ours it is BBC One HD North West on 101, so it seems to know that we are North West based. My ma and pa however suggests that there 101 is a radio programme now but was previously London news. Perhaps I need to re-boot the box to reset it.

@SteveA16  you may need to be aware that occasionaly the BBC have either technical problems or even at times industrial action which means that regional programmes may be provided from a different region (e.g. even though you are receiveing North West the content may be from London)

That said I live in the North West and have only seen the very odd case of this - although I do seem to remember one bulletin in the laste couple of weeks where part of the programme was from elsewhere before it switched over

I think they may be mixing up Ch 101 (which is BBC 1 TV) and Ch 0101 (which is BBC Radio 1).

Without a Sky viewing card in their box it's possible that it will revert to the default London BBC 1 on Ch 101 but the North West version should still be on 953 for them.

The powered down their box and restarted and they have 953 back in there list.

Its not showing on my box either, strange that all the other regional channels, just not my NW area. 

Not sure what sky are doing at the moment as they have just got rid of 803 (ITV1 Granada SD) too so all my scheduled recordings have disappeared and I now have to try and figure out what they were going forward and reschedule.

Why do they keep messing with stuff and why not tell customers this is happening.

@akh48  The BBC region that is your region is your '101'  channel and will not appear in the 951 onwards list which shows the other regions

Hence no 953 for BBC NW viewers as this is on 101 

Both BBC & ITV have shutdown their SD channels  so they don't incurr costs for channels not needed as they are FTA
