That's a very common misconception: it's actually a result of the manufacturing process.

same issue and sky went through checks waste of space.   I didn't even know had a viewing card.  Am disgusted with them.  I even said the card had obviously reached the end of its life, went nowhere.

I don't even know where it is on my sky box.  Also the fact until Saturday could watch bbc etc but no Sky programmes and then. Yesterday nothing.   If I knew where to look could take card out and reinsert.

I never ordered didn't even know had a viewing cards. Sky a load of rubbish in my view not there for me

Sky satellite TV does not work without a viewing card, you cannot get the subscription cahannels without it, you either have one in the box or someone has removed it

Did you actually look at @Annie+UK's faq? It explains exactly how to find the Card.

If you don't want Sky any more, just phone and give notice to cancel.

That's says it all, have the box for many years never aware about viewing card.  Never removed live in my own as said didn't know even had one
