I have a drx890 box that I've had to get back into service, it's been in a box not powered up for many years. Struggling to get it to update software. It's sat on r006..xxxxx, where as I think r024..xx is the current version.
have tried the process sky give - hold backup while re connecting the power lead, until the 4 front led's come on. That all happens, the updating message comes on screen, everything seems like it's working. However, when you power it on, it hasn't updated 🤷♂️🤷♂️
any ideas?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreDoes the box have an internet connection, or are you expecting the update to arrive over the satellite dish? The latter could be a very prolonged process.
It's also possible that the difference in firmware version is just too great, and the designers never anticipated it.

Well, I had Ethernet connection to the box so figured it would be fine. However, I don't think I'd enabled the connection. Did that this morning, ran through the process and it's updated. So we're all good.
