Sky+, no signal some channel, input 2 no signal strength, cable loose on dish

Hi,

I live in a flat with a communal dish.  I think I may know the problem (loose cable on communal dish) but want to check if this is correct and what next step is.

I am getting the message "Your Sky+HD box isn't getting a satellite signal ...." on some channels.  I followed all the self help advice, and my input 2 is showing no signal (empty bar in services/signal rather than the full white bar for input 1).  I took the cable out the back of the box, put it back in again, reset the box and nothing changed..

I then checked with a neighbour who was having the same problem so I went to look at the communal dish.  There is a cable hanging down loose so I assume this is causing the problem.  Would this be correct? Do we need a Sky engineer with a long ladder to come and reconnect it or can anyone do this?  Obviously, living in a flat, we don't have long ladders 🙄

Thank you for reading 🙂

@TAE248  You need to speak to the property management company responsible for the communal dish in the first instance has sky can't touch it without their permission

Sky don't deal with communal dishes you'll need your buildings management/Landlord to arrange for an engineer

@TAE248 I would say your diagnosis is correct! As @SKY1992bf posted, you'll need to speak to your property management people. It's their responsibility,  not Sky's.

Re: Sky+, no signal some channel, input 2 no signal strength, cable loose on dish

Thanks @Mark39 ,  @SKY1992bf ,  @Annie+UK for such quick responses.  So I will get my management company (we are self managed) to contact Sky to reconnect the cable.

Thanks for your help!
