Sky + mini and hd

Hi. My sky mini box has stopped working, I connected an old sky + box instead of it, its working OK except for I have no HD channels, which is a real loss. I have done what was recommended on the HD channel fix prompt but no joy. Can anyone help me sort this. My main room is sky +. Thanks in advance

@Cillbill  Is the mini a sky+hd box or an sd only box 

if sd that will be why you have lost hd and need to replace it with a +HD Box

@Cillbill I suspect your mini box is a SkyHD (not Sky+HD) Multiscreen box, which can receive HD broadcasts but has no recording functionality?

If you can find one you can replace it with another SkyHD (DRX595) box, or as @SKY1992bf posted, a Sky+HD box (DRX890 or DRX895). There are used Sky+HD boxes available to buy cheaply on ebay - around £30. SkyHD boxes are rarer.

@SKY1992bf  and @Mark39  Thanks for the replies, the box I changed from is a DRX595L and I changed it to a DRX890WL. Is this where my problem lies do ye think.Thanks again for the help.

A DRX890 is a Sky+ HD box so should be able to receive HD broadcasts ... where did you obtain the DRX890 from?

Are any subscription channels active on the replacement DRX890 box?

@Cillbill have you transfered the Viewing Card from your old box to the new one and paired them? 

Unrelated, but you also need to set Single Feed Mode on in the DRX890 as it has (I assume) only a single cable from the dish.
