Often seems to happen at the same time each day, the box changes channel back to the Sky Intro. Frustrating enough when watching the channel, but even worse when Live Pause is pressed and you lose the recording!

Press Services on your remote
Select Help
Select Sky+ Rebuild
This should take no longer than 10 minutes, don't do it if you are recording or due to start recording something.

Thanks for the advice but I'm afraid I tried it and the problem remained the same.

Going bach to channel 998 is often because the Sky box loses power

Thanks for your input - I understand the thinking but I am not recording at the time it happens, just watching a regular programme and it flips immediately to Sky Intro channel. If it is a power loss, it is not discernable. Sometimes happens when I have pressed Live Pause to pop out of the room and have found that the program I was watching has been lost because I wasn't recording it.

There is nothing in the settings that will change channels at a specific time without an onscreen warning (there is a feature on very old boxes but you get a prompt to cancel the channel change IIRC)

Thanks for the idea - I am trying it out.

Well, I have spent several days, watching and recording channels but I am no further forward. When I watch, it sometimes reverts to Sky Intro. When I record, the recording is fine. It has also changed overnight back to Sky Intro. This seems to be one of those irritating intermittant problems that is difficult to trace. Thanks for trying.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThis isn't something I've seen reported before. I think you might have to conclude that your Sky box has developed a fault. The one thing you might try is plugging it into a different power socket, just in case it's the result of mains-borne interference or a problem, with the socket itself.
Failing that, you might have to try a replacement Sky box.
