I know that I've got an issue, something is not working now that has been working with no problem for at least 10 years.

I am not a technophobe, so I apologise for not knowing any of the jargon in your reply.

Sadly you have been incorrectly informed as the whole "it will be sorted in 48 hours" is a line advisers are known to come out with when they don't know the answer to something. In this case if you are a Talk talk broadband customer then have a read of the post marked as the answer for a possible fix.

 

For the record there is no such issue downloading as I downloaded a boxset earlier without any issues although I am not a Talk Talk customer.

Thanks @caesarome  I tried the work around which did not work for me. Spoken to the technical team who advised they are aware and as Sky Q boxes are also having issues they hope to resolve it . He explained that Sky seemed to be having problems communicating with Talk Talk due to an update that needed tweaking. So I will give them a chance . It has been confirmed only TalkTalk customers are seeing the problem.

Today I tried to download an episode of The Daily Show.  I got Scheduled, then Downloading, on the display, but no red recording light.  When I checked later I got the Failed message.  It did this for several different shows despite me powering off the + HD box.  I can search for programmes to watch or catch up and download, so it can't be the internet connection.

That is exactly what has happened with my box, until yesterday I was able to download and watch programmes - which I do, alot, and now it says scheduled, starting download, then nothing happens and it eventually says download failed. Everything else appears to be working ok.

If your ISP is Talk Talk, see the large thread that was started yesterday rather than this old thread.

I have also had this problem since yesterday. 

I can confirm that the answer on this thread did work for me thank you.

I changed the DNS IP address to 1.0.0.1 in the Sky box and downloading is now working ok and Catchup menus working properly.

 

I could not download on demand or catch-up.  It said 'Starting download' but never started the download, then failed.  Catchup menus were very slow and no images.  I wasted a lot of time rebooting router and sky+ hd box and tried different routers to no avail.   

 

I'm with TalkTalk.

I am having a similar issue

 

I currently have Sky+ and have two separate boxes running on two different viewing cards. Within the past 48 hours my sky on demand and sky cinema have stopped working. When I try to access on demand, I get the titles of the programmes showing but picture unavailable. When I try to download a programme either in SD or HD it says starting download but never begins and eventually comes back as failed.

 

I tried ringing Sky but got a very unhelpful call handler who was more interested in trying to sell me SkyQ as opposed to fixing the problem. Ive tried resetting my router, tried the Sky planner rebuild and rebooting my sky box but with no joy.

Could this be related to the disagreement between Sky and TT over the NOW TV issue?  Could Sky have pulled the plug on TT customers?
