Sky+ Deleted items disappearing when planner still 70% free
This never used to happen, deleted items would remain in that section until manually cleared.
I like keeping them there to remind me which was last episode watched, particularly useful when a second series starts 2 years after first one and forgotten how series 1 ended.,
It was easy to restore and watch again to refresh the memory.

Items downloaded from On Demand will be removed automatically when Sky's rights to them expire.
I don't know of a reason why recorded items would be removed

Thanks for reply
Deleted programmes were recorded not downloaded.
I could understand it if box was full but at 70% free this should't happen !!

This will, and always has, happened. When the hard drive has 70% free, that 70% is your Deleted list. Every time you record or download something new, something gets removed from your Deleted list.
You, should though, have quite a lot of stuff in Deleted, but nevertheless something goes every time you record something.

Problem here is the deleted section only has a few programmes (7) so no way does it amount to 70%.

Re: Sky+ Deleted items disappearing when planner still 70% free
Update
I today deleted an unwatched recorded (not downloaded) itv programme from planner. In deleted tab it adises it will be deleted on 19 September. When did deleted items start having a permamently deleted lifespan ?
Is this now standard setting ?

@keithinscotland That setting has been around forever
the 70% rule only applies to the all and individual gene tabs
once moved to the deleted tab they only stay there for a set amount of time before deletion

Re: Sky+ Deleted items disappearing when planner still 70% free
Odd. That certainly applies to downloaded items. I've not seen it applied to recordings from the TV Guide before.
There hasn't been any updates to Sky+ for several years.
Edited to add: I'll happily bow to @SKY1992bf's better knowledge, as I haven't used Sky+ for at least 10 years!

I have multi-room and both boxes now have this issue.

Re: Sky+ Deleted items disappearing when planner still 70% free
@keithinscotland @Mark39 afaik this is nothing new the deletion date has always been there on recordings from the tv guide in the deletion tab for as long as I can remember and I'm still using the same system that I had when sky plus came out
regardless with it being a legacy system there's absolutely no chance of Sky doing anything about it

I'd actually forgotten about this, but Yes, deleted recordings only stay in Deleted for 60 days.. I do remember it coming in and caused quite a stir on the forums. It's many years ago though. Just tried something out to refresh my memory. If you Restore something back to the Planner and immediately delete it again the 60 day countdown restarts.
