Sky+ Box no longer active

I was with Sky for many years though after not wathing much tele decided to cancel however, the box is totally deactivated by Sky and I cannot access my main channel, Racing TV. I have tried to contact them to see if they can put it back on but it is impossible to get anywhere ! The VA is an absolute shambles and I can't speak with a human being - all very frustrating. 

 

Has anyone else struggled with getting access to Racing TV? I have an Amazon Firestick but the action is delayed by 10 seconds or so which isn't great when using betting exchanges,

Sky don't deactivate Sky+ boxes. Can you expand on what's happening? Do you get to the main Menu? Is the box connected to your satellite dish? Any error message?

Racing TV is a premium channel that you have to subscribe to via them yourself.

 

Sky Sports Racing is part of the Basic TV package.

I am getting the message, "Your Sky+HD Box isn't getting a satellite signal". I can access the menus etc though the message for TV Guide and Sky+ is always "your box is still initialising"

I have the subscription for Racing TV however non of the channels work, even the premium, paid for Racing TV

@nudge48 Without a satellite signal nothing will work. First check that the satellite cables are still firmly connected to the back of the box.

Assuming they are, you will need to contact a local satellite company to come out and look at the dish, LNB and external cabling to find and fix the problem. 

Sky no longer send engineers to Sky+HD systems.

You cannot use a Sky box for an individual externally-billed add-on subscription without having the minimum Sky subscription channel bundle ('Signature') as well.

I have got my subscription back now however the box is sitll not receiving a signal..... think I'll have to try support 😞

Sky are no longer providing support for Sky+ boxes, I'm afraid, so unless you have Sky Protect, you'll need to get a local satellite installer to come out to investigate the signal issue.

@nudge48  if support are unable to fix over the phone, you will need to employ the services of a third party engineer to look at your setup as Sky no longer supports engineer appointments
