Problems with Sky Viewing Card

Hi All,

We have Sky +HD. last night could not download Sky on demand channels. Today, cannot get ther Sky subscription channels(we just have the basic Subscription). Screen message says that Viewing card problem, please take out and insert again etc. Did this twice. Also have turned off at mains and followed advice. Still the same. STrange thing is, we can get Films 4 + but not Films 4? Checked broadband connection, all O.K.

Any advice before phoning Sky? Read thast they do not support Sky + HD, but this seems to be a viewing card problem?

Many thanks

Graham

Re: Problems with Sky Viewing Card

Hi Annie,

So, after pressing services on the remote  pressing 0 or 4 did nothing. After accidently unplugging the Sky Box when pulling out to make sure all connections were o.k(broadband) and putting the box back on, after intitialising, we could get Sky Channels eg 106, Pause, rewind which we could not do before. Now, when trying to download Elementary on Alibi from the complete series(we were downloading prorammes on saturday) now we get a message to upgrade? Do I need to contact Sky or try reactivating the card from the link you sent? Sorry to be a bit of a Numpty, Graham

Re: Problems with Sky Viewing Card

Hi,

So, basically evrything is back, except trying to download any programmes eg Elementary series 2 episode 15(for example), says we now have to upgrade our service? Has anything changed since Saturday? Many thanks, Graham

Please Note: Sky+ is now a legacy service that Sky are replacing with their newer services: Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream

Sky has not changed anything

As for my instructions, are you sure you read them fully? as it explains that you ahould not look at the screen during the first 5 steps

Re: Problems with Sky Viewing Card

Hi Annie,

 Many thanks.

So, followed your instructions, re-installed card and tried to downlaod the in-demand. Still says for me to upgrade for the service. I'm thinking that since Saturday they have decided you have to purchase the programmes on Alibi? For example Chicgao Fire(as an example is still downloadable). Many thanks Graham

Are you trying to download HD content without the HD Add-on? or Box Sets without the correct subscription?

Re: Problems with Sky Viewing Card

Hi Annie,

yes, we have the Added HD. It seems like where we could watch future Programmes of Elementry (we were downloading on Saturday), now we cannot download future programmes. Well, at least we have the Sky programmes back and can pause, rewind etc which we could not do earlier.

Many thanks for all your help, really appreciated

Graham
