@MikeP2023

What have Sky said when you've reported this issue during the last 4 weeks?

....and what do you mean by 'not worked'? If you're seeing a 'no satellite signal' message, it's a, problem with your dish setup which you'll need to call out a local satellite installer to take a look at.

Re: No bbc1 or film4 hd

Thanks for your reply. Sky send me round in circles though frequently asked questions, this forum and when they spoke to my wife they put her though to the technical department and it ultimately cut her off!

we just don't know who to call. Our dish is 13 years old but must be working as clearly we get all the other channels and box office movies so it's specific to these channels and some sort or technical fault?

do you know who we call please?

thanks

@MikeP2023  As already advised you need to call out a local independent contractor to have a look as it sounds like the dish is out of alignment on those specific channels

sky no longer supports sky plus hardware and won't send engineer support unless you are covered by sky protect

"No Signal" is an error generated by your TV indicating that it cannot find a device on the current input, check the correct input for your Sky box is selected

"No Satellite Signal" is an error generated by your Sky box and usually indicates an issue with one or more of the following:

• The Dish is misaligned
• The Tuners in the sky box
• The input sockets on the Sky box
• The plugs on the cables
• The cables themselves
• The Sockets on the dishes LNB
• The dishes LNB has gone faulty for the connections the box is using
• You have plugged your Sky+ box into a dish that is only compatible with Sky Q

You may have to call out a local satellite installer, unless you have Sky Protect insurance, to check/fix your system, another option is to move to Sky Q, as during the move all issues will be resolved as part of the install, there is also the option of Sky Glass or Sky Stream, if you want to move away from satellite TV and use the Internet

Re: No bbc1 or film4 hd

Before I jump into contacting an independent satellite technician can please I check...

1. is there a direct number for sky technical support?

2. Is it possible that a dish malalignment can cause the loss of only 2 channels?

all sockets are correctly plugged in

thanks

Not direct to Technical Support, all calls go to Customer Service agents who can advise you but they won't send an engineer.

2. Is it possible that a dish malalignment can cause the loss of only 2 channels?

Yes

all sockets are correctly plugged in

thanks

I doubt it is only 2 channels, it will be one transponder coming from one of the satellites

The signal comes from a cluster of satellites and not just one so if your dish is not directly pointing at the centre of the cluster some signals will be totally lost or at a very reduced power causing the STB to have a hard/impossible time locking on the signal
