Re: Input 2 Lock Indicator not locked - advice pls

Hi, I have noticed that i can get all channels all day working fine and then by 8pm the signal plays up and we have to keep switching off the box on more than one occassion.   Also trying to record a programme last night caused the signal to go.  It's very strange. Any reason why it works fine in the day?

If i upgrade to Sky Q i will need a new dish as the current one is on our chimney.  Our cables run from the chimney down the outside of the house under a vent and into our cellar and up from the flooring in our front room.  Would an engineer have issues with this set up would he need to run new cabling?  Thanks again.  I am so confused by all this!

You need a new LNB on the dish and Sky will not fit this if the dish is on your chimney

You would need a 3rd party installer as what you need is not a standard Sky install

You would likely be at the whim of the engineer on the day. They almost certainly won't agree to touch the one on the chimney, but might also refuse to install a second dish on a property.

Really?  But if they refuse to install another dish then i cannot upgrade to Sky Q.  I see loads of houses with dishes on their chimney.

As I said earlier, get a 3rd party installer, one that does not have the strict health and safety rules that Sky has

Assuming there is somewhere else that the dish could go, the easiest (though not cheapest) solution would be to get a third party engineer in to relocate the dish to a suitable position first, then get Sky in to do the Sky Q upgrade.

Although your cable routing may cause additional complications.
