I am trying to get through to sky to get an engineer to come out and assess the damage to wiring in house after a house fire, Satalite dish was destroyed and I cant get anyone to get this sorted, other than sign a new contract for Sky cube and then they will send an engineer, I need to confirm that it can be reconnected before signing a new contract. After 23 years a customer, this is ridiculous that no dept can deal with my query.... anyone have a direct contact to cancel my service, Thanks

Thanks for reply, its not sky plus thats the issue, its that the satelite dish was destroyed and I need to have a new one put in and house wires reinstalled before I can upgrade to Sky cube and thye dont seem to be able to answer that question, hence Im just going to cancel Sky and move to another provider who can fit the right wires etc

Which wiring needs to be assessed? Sky Q the cables from the dish and the dish itself will be replaced as part of the installation. I don't believe there's any other wiring that a Sky engineer would be qualified to assess for you.

Mark, thats more information than I got from the Sky customer service rep when I was chatting to them on phone, If they replace all, then why didnt he just say that and arrange an engineer. I give up, but will call them back, thanks

Sky Q is always engineer installed, so one would attend as a matter of course. If the dish etc. isn't serviceable (yours clearly isn't!) they'll replace it. In fact they replaced both my dish and cables even though they were in good order, simply because they were old.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Pam250290 The decision not to send an engineer is solely based on which sky platform you currently use to receive service nothing else
you currently have sky plus therefore sky won't send an engineer out to assess the damage before you decide to upgrade unless you have sky protect insurance
your options are to either upgrade first or employee the service of an independent contractor or cancel
