I am using a Sky+ box that is approximately 8 years old. Recently, I have noticed the picture intermittently turns very grainy for a few hours, every few days - it seems to be happening more and more frequently.
i have followed all the support instructions (e.g. turning off and on, changing output channels, trying different HDMI ports and cables) but nothing is helping.
Can anyone advise? I am starting to think that the box is faulty or burning out due to age...

If swapping tv doesn't make any difference (I doubt it will), then it looks like either your Sky box is faulty, or it's picking up periodic interference from another device, either within or within close proximity of your home.

Re: Grainy picture when watching anything on Sky+
Re "Grainy" do you mean the picture breaks up with coloured blocks? A picture of the screen would be a huge help 🙂
How is your TV connected to your Sky box? HDMI/SCART/Coax(areial)
What are your Signal Strengths/Qualities? Take a look at the link below:

Question Q11 in my Sky Plus F⋅A⋅Q
Not quite - by grainy, I mean there is a general noticeable 'noise' throughout the whole picture compared to how it normally looks, especially where there is high contrast - e.g. the blue menu bar with the white/yellow text is particularly noisy.
TV is connected via HDMI through a sound bar ARC, although I've tried connecting directly to the TV and the problem persists.
Signal strength is full - certain the signal is not the problem, as it occurs while watching everything, recordings, downloads and live TV.
As soon as I work out how to, I'll upload a picture! Thank you.

It's very hard to photograph the issue, it most certainly doesn't look as fuzzy as it doesn't to the naked eye! But you can just about see almost a glow around the letters caused by aforementioned 'noise'

Try turning off any picture processing in your TVs setting (ie Shapness etc...)

Thanks - unfortunately that made no difference either. I will try and connect to another TV tomorrow to see if is an issue with the current one.
