After 17 years on Sky+/+HD, have now had to upgrade as we know. Went for Sky Stream as we are on a communal dish so wanted better functionality than a single feed Sky Q.
We're adapting OK to most features but what we really can't get used to is it not changing channels to what we want to watch.
On Sky+ a programme set to record would automatically turn over when it was due to air. Older boxes had a similar function called "Autoplay". Am I missing something or is this just not possible on Sky Stream?
Thanks for any comments!

That isn't a feature of Sky Stream. The reason that worked on Sky + was because that was only capable of recording/viewing 2 channels at once, so if you had 2 shows recording at the same time, one of them would always be automatically switched over to when you are watching something else.
The whole concept of Sky Stream is about watching your shows from your playlist, at a time that suits you, once the show is available to be watched.
When a new episode on a playlisted show is available, the show moves to the front of your playlist. If you have watched the previous episode of the show, then the next episode appears on the continue watching rail on the home screen as soon as it is available to be watched. This may often be before its broadcast on the linear channel (as you often get with soaps being available first thing in the morning), or when box sets orf shows are available from Day 1, whilst the broadcast schedule remains weekly for a show.

This isn't possible on Sky Stream I'm afraid.
It's very much about streaming programmes on demand and searching for things to watch rather than reminding you when things are broadcasting live.

Thank you all for your responses.
I did suspect as much would be the case but wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something obvious. Guess we'll just have to adapt to the new normal!
Good to hear it's not a feature of Sky Q though... has helped justify our choice of upgrade platform. Still much better (so far) than a single feed communal dish set up.

It only worked because you were on a single feed communal system😉
