As above, I have gig1 package, tried Stream back in 2022 with Sky Broadband sped 54mps it buffered quite a lot, it was connected by WiFi as the router was 20 foot away,
The VM hub is behind the tv so could be connected via Ethernet speed 800mps, will that be better?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out morePersonally I've never had to redo a reset or had remote issues in the 4 months I've had it.
Does it sometimes need to be turned off at the plug to reboot it - yes, but it's not like it's a daily thing (for me anyway).
I personally wouldn't make a decision based on the content of posts of this forum or similar forums, as most posts would tend to be negative and the majority of people would only look for advice or rant when they have a problem and usually the good experiences from customers don't tend to be posted about.

I have the same set up and it works really well for me.

Hey,
800MB/s should be plenty as the pucks are only able to access 100 mb/s via ethernet so should be no problems at all. As i currently have OGI (Welsh) 900MB/s FFTP and both pucks comnnected ethernet with no problems at all :).
Hope this helps.

Thanks, is Sky Stream as good as Virgin Stream?
14 Mar 2024 07:22 PM
I can't comment on Virgin stream but Sky Stream picture quality is better than Virgin Tv360. I have both.

Personally couldn't answer this as i have never had Virgin Stream only BT TV and Sky TV but i have moved from Sky Q to Sky Stream and it's has been amazing for my personally needs. 🙂

There will be pros and cons of both. Really this will come down to a personal preference I would have thought over availability of channels, prices, user interface.

Does Sky Stream still have a lot of issues, ie:- having to reset the box, buffering & remote control not working?
14 Mar 2024 07:28 PM
I've had to reset the box maybe 5 or 6 times in the 9 months I've had it. The remote has worked without issue so far.

I have only ever had to reset 1 x puck in the last 10 months being a customer as was moving it from a bedroom WIFI to ethernet downstairs office but apart from that everything has been working smoothly and quite happy with the product, But all down to personal useage and needs.

Yes.
ITV is an interesting one as it isn't supported for all shows. However this also affects the ITV streams on version as it's an ITV thing rather than a Sky or Virgin based issue.
