You are not 'recording' BBC shows on Sky Stream's playlist, you are bookmarking them on BBC iPlayer.
The BBC can and do remove some programmes after varying amounts of time. You have no control over this.

I added BBC's The Turkish Detective series to my Playlist, but when i went to play an episode it wasnt in the Playlist anymore, though it had been showing as to be recorded.
A couple of other programmes did record OK
Are some BBC programmes not recordable?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@IanW51 no BBC shows "record" where you add them to your playlist that should create a bookmark to the show in iPlayer. Different shows have different times until they are removed from iPlayer but The Turkish Detective series are still in iPlayer and not due to expire for at least a year from the date they were shown. You can access them by searching if they have fallen off your playlist.

As mentioned above nothing on the Beeb is actually recorded on Stream, just bookmarked on iplayer. Open iplayer and search for the show. It is there.

The playlist is entirely dependent on metadata provided by broadcasters. If this metadata is changed after someone has added a particular show to their playlist, there's a good chance it will cause the show to disappear from the playlist.
Metadata can be changed for various reasons - due to a simple spelling error, a change in duration, or some other broadcaster specific reason. It can happen on any channel.
The playlist should therefore not be treated as, or expected to be like, a Sky Q planner. It's not a list of 'recordings' - it's a list of tagged programmes which the broadcasters' have control over their availability.

Are you based in UK or Republic of Ireland
BBC adding to playlist
It's different if customers are based in Republic of Ireland
Some BBC broadcasts does get recorded when added to playlist but it's very limited.
BBC iPlayer is not available in Republic of Ireland
Republic of Ireland
BBC instead make available a limited amount of programming as on demand
To see what is made available by BBC as on demand for Republic of Ireland you click TV Shows from home menu and then scroll with remote to BBC tile
Only what's listed in BBC on demand section will have playback from playlist and will list as recorded when that has been added to playlist.
The content BBC made available to Republic of Ireland some will only be available for 7 to 30 days it will vary and you will notice some episodes that was previously available later not be.
It's BBC who decide what content is made available as on demand not Sky Ireland.

Thanks Paul. and others who replied. Yes i am in Ireland. When did BBC change their policy on recordings? I didnt notice this with Virgin whom i have recently left for Sky Streaming (via Eir).
Also added a film broadcast on RTE but when i went to play it Sky charged me a rental fee. I see from other discussions that this is a Sky thing. Again i didnt encounter this on Virgin. Might have to return there although it is much more expensive than Sky, even after the 12 month introductory rate.

BBC on demand content been made available in Republic of Ireland is new as it was not previously available.
When Sky Glass/Sky Stream was launched in Republic of Ireland that's when BBC done a deal with Sky Ireland to provide a limited amount of on demand content for Sky Glass/Sky Stream/Sky Q
Sky Q is a different platform and has a hard drive that can record content broadcast direct from TV Guide aka EPG.
Sky Glass/Sky Stream is streaming service only and does not have a hard drive and playback is from a cloud recording on sky servers or from a streaming service app
Films broadcast on likes of BBC/RTÉ and other terrestrial channels is they have live broadcast rights only that's different licence to been available as on demand
When you add a film to playlist the on demand playback rights can be with various streaming services Disney/Prime Video/Paramount/Netflix etc etc apps and require a subscription with those services
RTÉ Player will have some films available as on demand but that's diferent to a live broadcast.
Some films will be available as on demand with Sky Cinema Subscription but you will notice some films are rent/buy at times with Sky Store
At a later stage some films on Sky Store is made available with Sky Cinema or the reverse happens

I don't see why anyone in Eire should receive the BBC, you don't pay a licence

In English language name of Country is Ireland not Eire
When using English language use the following only Ireland or use Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland if you are referring to North part of Ireland
Do not use word Eire it has a different meaning when translated into English
Éire and Eire are not the same and both words are from Irish Language.
UK Act
Ireland Act 1949, where the English-law name of the state was changed to "Republic of Ireland
UK not to use word Eire when using English Language
BBC channels been available in Republic of Ireland Irish TV providers pay BBC to receive those channels and list on a EPG (Sky Ireland pay BBC to receive those channels)
They not provided free and same applies to Northern Ireland receiving RTÉ Channels Sky UK pay RTÉ to receive those channels as in also not provided free.
Republic of Ireland has a TV Licence and it's for watching any live broadcast on a TV it does not matter if that tv channel is from another country a TV licence it applies to all Live TV broadcasts

This a english language forum
When using English Language use Ireland or Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland only
I don't need to provide any link as it's very well known Irish TV providers pay BBC a fee I and others post the information multiple times in this community.
BBC channels available in Republic of Ireland comes under
Cross-border partnership
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_in_the_Republic_of_Ireland
BBC 1 and BBC 2 Northern Ireland were to be made available
Note where it says on a paid-for basis
BBC on demand content is also not free Sky Ireland has to pay for it and is a new licensing agreement deal between Sky Ireland and BBC
BBC decides what on demand content is made available.
