Watching ITV on Sky Stream

I'm a new switcherto Stream (with whole house) from Q.  Are ITV programs all only available via ITV X?  Does the continue watching work on ITV X?   I added an ITV program to my playlist but had to go out and missed it - it doesn't seem to be available to me on the same day - do I have to wait until tomorrow to watch today's program?  Not sure I've made the right decision to switch!

@mikeyorkie10 So ITV X is always a bit of a pain. Yes the shows are only available on ITV X as a catch up service, but there seems to be no common time period that it takes for a show to be available on ITV X post broadcast unfortuantely. I've noticed sometimes a show is available immediately. other times its an hour or 2 and in some situations it can be the next day.

Another thing to note with ITV X is that its quite common for them to mistag shows with the metadata that the playlist functionality uses. This means that if you open the ITV X app you may see the next episode of the show available, but it may not show up on your playlist and the continue watching rail on your Sky Home screen, until ITV had added/corrected the metadata associated with that episode.

You will find that the watch from start functionality is also a bit flaky, again as a result of ITV X, with it being available intermittently. This particular thing has been been noticed by Virgin Stream customers which points to it being an ITV thing.

Re: Watching ITV on Sky Stream

@MarkGoldsmith Thanks for this Mark - is there a problem generally with continue watching - the only success I've had is with iplayer programs.  Is there any specific setting(s) that control this 'feature'?

I suspect you may get different answers to that from different members of this community. Personally I've had no issues with the continue watching rail aside from being unable to remove shows that you started watching and no longer wish to view the rest of the episodes.

you could try unplugging for a few minutes and see if that helps restore the continue watching rail.

What won't appear on that rail is shows from Disney +, as they currently don't allow Sky access to that data to be displayed on the continue watching rail.

@mikeyorkie10  Are you referring to the continue watching rail on your glass/stream home page? If so then it's very unreliable at the moment,in theory anything you watch should show up here with the exception of Disney plus, sometimes shows add to the rail sometimes not or you may find your rail will populate with shows which you have fully watched,I do believe sky are aware of the issues and are working on getting a fix sorted.
