Trying to download discovery plus but Sky Shop keeps giving error message MYSKY_1998
Managed to download the app through other means but app is frozen when I click subscribe

You can try powering off the device for at least 30 seconds by turning it off at the plug.
If that doesn't work then other customers have resolved the issue via a factory reset. Are you using Glass or Stream?

Thanks Mark. I only say subscribe as the app wasn't already downloaded on stream but the sky deal was that the subscription was free. Email from Sky said to go to Sky Shop and select discovery plus from Sky Marketplace then follow on screen instructions. Managed to get the app but when click on get discovery plus nothing happens. I will try switching off and rebooting.

So switching off at plug and rebooting did not solve the issues. I've also refreshed apps still no joy. If I do a factory reset will I lose all my info and how easy is it to recover everything?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYeah the factory reset wipes everything so you have to reset up WiFi, relog in to all the apps etc etc which is quite a pain.
i know that some other customers have reported that has resolved similar discovery plus issues to you are facing
