Trying to cancel Sky Sports rolling monthly contract

I subscribed for the monthly rolling Sky Sports package over Christmas but need to cancel it as don't need it going forward. On MySky app and the website and on the puck, the option to manage contents packs is greyed out. What should I do to cancel and avoid a charge this month please?

Hi @ted137 I cancelled my Sky F1 rolling contract a few weeks ago by simply calling Sky and they cancelled it immediately.  As you are required to give 31 days notice I was able to continue watching it during this period (I still have only a few days left).

You can actually do this without calling Sky. You just have to go through the help section in a web browser and not the app. It's a few clicks but just look for account and managing your subscriptions using MySky in your phone or Computers web browser. It allows you to remove it.

Thanks all - I think its bad that you can't cancel through the app/website as easily as you can purchase it!

Anyway I have emailed and it says the effective date of cancellation will be date of my email so that's okay

Hi @Antb73 yes, in theory your correct but I have not been able to see "Your products" in my MySky app for a couple of years and when I select it I get an error message.  Sky looked into it for me but we couldn't find a solution so unfortunately I have to phone every time I need to do something.  As it's not very often and easy enough it doesn't really worry me.

 

I've tried through the web site as well but without success 😫

It's definitely there because I've just removed sky sports from my package. I only wanted a month.

 

This is the sequence you have to go through.

Google sky help - sign in and click My Account - then Account and Subscription - changing my subscription - changing my sky products - scroll down to Sky Sports, click on it and it will have a remove button. It'll try and outside you to stay but after that you just remove it... You have to go through the normal basket routine which basically just removed it from there. It's instant.

Just to add to my previous post. I did say this isn't in the app. It's the web based MySky area.

Thanks @Antb73 I have over the last couple of years tried every way I can think of. I have just followed your instructions but still end up with the error message. As below (the image will take a while to appear as it need to be approved)

I did it all on my phones browser. Specifically Chrome.

I see you're an Apple user so maybe it's just different. Can't see why though I'll just try on my PC to see if I can still get through all the steps. Just so I know for myself 😂

@Antb73  It used to work just fine but about 2 years ago I cancelled my Sky Sport subscription through the Your Products page in my MySky app and it never worked correctly after that.  When troubleshooting with Sky we tried on my laptop, iPhone and iPad and even removed the app and reinstaled it but nothing resolved it.

To remove a part of your TV package you need to contact Sky giving the standard 31 days notice. If you have 'in contract' discounts you may not be able to remove them. Also make sure cancellation of a certain add-on doesn’t cancel another part of a discount.

You may be able to remove it via this link which includes a message option (usually available between 9am & 7.30pm) or by calling in using the number that should appear.
