My sky stream keeps pausing when watching live TV like it's buffering all the time it's at times impossible to watch we have any broadband too and the tv is directly next to the router but it does this even when only the TV is on so other devices are not also streaming etc

We have switched from HDR to a lower resolution picture and it had cured the problem for now.

So that would indicate the issue is with your broadband connection, either its the underlying broadband speed to the property (needs to be at least 30-35 Mbps), or its the connection from the router to the sky stream puck. If connected via Wifi the Stream Puck should be out in the open ideally with nothing around it, having it in a couboard or something like a shelf underneath a TV stand can cause Wifi interference and weaken the signal.

Mine is buffering also and sometimes switches off to a black screen and back on. It's not the wifi because I gave up on that years ago, only use hard wire/ethernet now.
For me it's a sky issue. Just checked my VM internet speed, 268Mbps download, 24Mbps upload average at the moment whilst TV still buffering.

Same issue here , using my firestick now as sky is is un watchable .
definitely a hardware issue ..
good wi fi speed 65 - 85
appple tv works fine as does Amazon fire stick

we have a 250mg fibre line up load speed of 47meg so the broardband is good. i did a speed test during the buffering and there was no problem with the speed. ll ather services ie netflix, apple + stand alone apps worked well ????

We have just had Sky stream installed. It buffers and goes black. Cannot believe that so many people have the same problem and yet sky are still sending the Puks out when they are clearly not fit for purpose. We have upgraded to 125MBs and they recommend minimum of 30/40??? All this about having to be near the modem??? Nothing else needs to be next to the modem to work!!! I am ringing them today and sending it back.

Does anyone know if we can have. Sky q box ? We've had these pucks for 6 months and honestly awful .. buffering not loading our internet is 250mb

The Sky Stream puck looks like another AMSTRAD cheapie...
I have 500mbps Virgin and NO problems with Netflix / Amazon Prime / 4 on my 2 x TV, or my 2 x ROKU or my Nvidia Shield.
BUT, my Sky Stream puck buffers.
The spec is clearly NOT fit for purpose!

There's so many variables here. I have a FTTP connection from a local company, 250 down 150 up, and I'm having zero issues with the puck, (ethernet), or Glass in the bedroom, (wi-fi). A lot of problems are local to the user, whether it be dodgy wi-fi, interference from electrical sources or neighbouring wi-fi, badly positioned puck, your isp, or even your router. Unfortunately tracking down these problems are difficult and time consuming. But Sky Stream works, I use it all the time, even forgetting that I'm streaming rather than using a dish or aerial connection.

Had Stram for over 2 years and last 6
months has been unbearable- black screen, buffering, freezing.. to the point lack of complete service. Was convinced to
upgrade to full
finre which I did, still same problem. Was sent new puck 2 days ago and today it has again been black screen, waiting to load messages and buffering-
mainly on ITV and MTV chamnnels

Today C4 was terrible... Kept pausing, would then sometimes rewind and got the "Well this is embarrassing" message on 3 occasions.
EVERY time, when switching back to the TV APP all was good.
BUT I then have to watch the ads....
