So I've had Sky Stream for around 5 weeks now, and I'm really pleased to report on a whole I am very satisfied.
I came to Sky from Virgin Media, who had offered me a good deal to stay (even sent a contract) only to then refuse to honour that contract. I had been looking to leave Virgin due to various issues anyway and this was the final straw.
I took a deal with Sky using my Blue Light Card, however Virgin refused to allow my landline number to be ported over which did cause massive problems as my broadband part of the deal was cancelled. Sky then refused to match it despite being told by various advisers they would. I eventually came to a suitable agreement with Sky after threatening to cancel.
My biggest fear with Stream was that the broadband speeds Sky offered in my area would not be quick enough, I left 1gb speeds from Virgin to 80mbs with Sky, however I pleased to report my fears that so far my hard wired Stream Puck works very well.
The picture quality of the Stream is in my opinion a step up from Virgin Media, although the UHD HDR content is similar, the standard HD is far superior on the Sky Stream.
I love the menus on the Stream, there are many different ways to access the content you want, even my partner manages to find her away around them. I honestly believe Sky have nailed the menus.
I enjoy the Playlist feature, I was slightly worried about losing the record function I had with the Virgin Media 360 box. However, the playlist feature works well for me.
Despite all my positives I have had a few small niggles. Firstly, during the first 2 weeks my Stream has twice developed pixelation on every channel, however after a reset the issue was resolved. However (fingers crossed) Sky appear to have resolve this issue.
My second issue is that occasionally when watching some on demand content after sitting through the adds midway through a show, rather than resuming where the adds began the Stream box jumps back to the start of the programme.
And finally the live TV content is around 40 - 60 seconds behind real time, this however really isn't an issue to me at all.
All in all I'm delighted I've made the switch to Sky and pleased I ignored the Trust Pilot reviews.
