Could simply be brief line dropouts .... you wouldnt really notice these on devices that use buffers and I guess it would be more noticeable on a device like sky which is in continual use

....and given that the software and hardware works reliably for most, it wouldn't appear that they're fundamentally flawed either.

That's why I said 'most'.!! How many others, only Sky would have any idea of.

Same here. Daily issues with lost connection. 3 hours with ISP, no issues - using Netflix via TV with no issues, but via Sky - licky to get 30 mins before freezing. Tried lots of the suggestions - no luck.

Just not fit for purpose - why every other device working but not the puck?? Too easy to blame ISP.

Re: Sky stream , honest review

I think has a lot to do with your isp....when I first got my puck I was using giffgaff (02 network)...and had nothing but trouble with "programme not loading".I was having to reboot about twice a day.....switched to Smarty (3 network) about 4 weeks ago and not had to reboot once

Re: Sky stream , honest review

Adequate and acceptable quality aside, my issue with Sky Stream that not all have is that it is *not* a *premium* product. The hardware may be adequate, but it is absolutely no match for Sky Q with it's smoothness.

I don't get picture in picture all my way through the menu which is also a UX issue (if I'm watching sport and want to check something else for e.g.)

I still hope they will release a premium hardware option down the line when some lessons have been learnt from the puck.

@pressandgo @OKcambridge You both spot on. Blame and responsibility is with Sky to fix, no one else and @Mark39 misread your post sorry

@Tony+Crane Yes, if you have the ad skipping package. That package also lets you skip ads on Channel 4 app and ITVX so it's pretty good value.

Re: Sky stream , honest review

Completely agree with this, sky stream has much better picture quality and sound quality with Dolby Atmos than Sky Q. There are a few quirks to iron out like the sound on mine doesn't always work. But a quick off and on fixes that. Also the puck can be hidden away out of sight. Over all much better than Q. Mine is hard wired on 900mbps full fiber which may make a difference.

Re: Sky stream , honest review

Looks like this might be my only option as a new customer, as they don't seem to offer Sky Q to new customers anymore. In general I just don't like or trust streaming. If I get it and am not happy is there any way I can revert to Sky Q? Finally moving into my own place but used my parents' Sky Q for years and it's been near on perfect, but not sure about this at all.

@SillyPoint

As far as we know Q is still available, but it does now seem to have disappeared from the Sky website drop-down menu for Television.  Sky has publicly stated that the vast majority of new subscribers are opting for Glass/Stream.
