Try some of the other Samsung codes. One of them will work.

A long press of the standby button should power off the TV.

@Bigmac2  Welcome to the forum.  Once you have setup the remote to control the volume and on/off of your TV you need to give a long press of the remote power button to turn off the TV.

Six months ago I purchased a new 65" Samsung S90C TV and soundbar.  When setting up the remote I just selected Samsung and then went through the various settings until I found one that worked.

@Bigmac2 I've got a Samsung and you need to do a looooooong press on the on/off button on the Sky remote. It should the put the TV and Puck in standby....

Press and hold until the TV turns off 👍🏻

I forgot to mention that although the sky remote is turning off the Samsung TV after about 10 seconds the TV comes back on again !

Hi @Bigmac2 That's certainly weird.  Maybe try clearing the remote and then pairing it again.

  1. Press 7 and 9 together on your Sky remote for three seconds (This resets/clears the remote)
  2. Press 4 and 6 together for three seconds (IR mode)
  3. Press 1 and 3 together for three seconds (bluetooth mode).   A connected message should appear on your screen, press continue and it's all done.

Once you have done that go back to Settings >Connected devices > Sky remote and then Control your TV to setup the remote controlling your TV option.

Re: Sky remote not turning off my new Samsung TV

Press and hold the power button and it should turn off the puck and put the TV into standby. We've got a 2022 Samsung QLED and it works with that.
