Sky puck settings
In Sky Puck, when I go to Settings - Picture and Sound - Sound, I see several options like Auto, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, PCM Stereo, and Passthrough. Which one should I choose?

Whichever one works best for your audio kit.
If you have an Atmos capable soundbar or AVR then choose passthrough or Dolby Digital+.
If you are just connecting to a TV's speakers then choose PCM Stereo.
There can be variances in lip sync depending on your kit and how it's connected so it's best to experiment until you find the audio format which works best for you.

Automatic. The puck chooses what it thinks is the best format depending on what you're watching.

Re: Sky puck settings
I'll leave it as auto, which is how it came from the factory. I was looking at the options you gave me and auto is the best.

Re: Sky puck settings
I have an LG TV with DTS Virtual X but I don't have a soundbar and my question is whether it's worth having DTS Virtual X turned on even if I don't have a soundbar.

Re: Sky puck settings
@pedro-n-f-c Sky do not support DFS settings directly but if you are using your TV speakers at best you get a "surrond effect" as 2 speakers in fromt of you cannot really become a set of speakers around the room. In most TVs the speakers are pretty poor hence the popularity of soundbars or you can go thecwhole hog and get a home cinema set up with multiole speakers behind and above you and get a full cinema experience.
Auto is the default setting and the puck should output the best quality your TV has said it can accept - the puck and TV exchange capabilities when connecting over HDMI - so if that works stick to it. The other settings are really only used where the automatic system doesn't work.

It's only worthwhile having DTS Virtual X turned on if you think it sounds good. Sound quality and picture quality is very subjective - there are no 'correct' settings that everyone should use. Everybody uses different equipment in different rooms, all of which have different lighting and acoustics.
I always advise people to set up their own equipment to how they think it looks and sounds best for their own circumstances. One person's settings won't necessarily look and sound good to another person.
