Hi, I have required a holiday home in Weymouth and wondered if I could take my sky stream box with me as got internet there already and Sky go app does not want to work on my apple laptop and don't want to miss out on the F1 when staying there.
Can I take my current box with me or do I need to get another contract for the holiday Van?
Thanks
Dee

No this would be a breach of contract which specifically states you can only use Sky Stream/Glass at the registered address, you have Sky Go that you can legally use at your holiday home.

Re: Sky Stream to holiday Van
This is not true as per the email they just sent me!
Why has my response been deleted?

Re: Sky Stream to holiday Van
Presumably moved as being misleading.
The email you received specifically told you to cease use of the puck away from the subscription address, and was in no way indicating approval for such activity.

Re: Sky Stream to holiday Van
@peter-marlow+1966 It is very clear what it states:
You can only watch your Streaming TV subscription on your Sky Stream puck from your registered home address – the address on your account. We cover this in your Streaming TV subscription contract (see Sky Terms and Conditions).
You can still watch your Sky subscription while you’re out and about by downloading the Sky Go app on your laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. It’s just if you watch on your Sky Stream puck outside your home that we might charge you extra.
To find out more, see our Use of Streaming TV subscription outside your home address article.

Re: Sky Stream to holiday Van
Well @GD1 , if my response hadn't been deleted you'd know your own response isn't quite complete.
I'll try again.
The email states
"We understand if you've taken your equipment away with you on holiday. But you must stop watching from outside your registered home as soon as possible, and within the next two weeks to avoid any extra charges."
This EXPLICITLY says you can use your puck on holiday for a couple of weeks.
It could not be clearer.
However, if @Dee1983 wishes to leave the puck PERMANENTLY in a second address, that is breach of contract and subject to the additional charge.

Re: Sky Stream to holiday Van
@Ed.B. Thats email IS NOT giving you permission to continue breaking the T&C's it's telling you ro STOP!
In any case this has been flagged to the CM's who will no doubt clarify the position for all to see.

Re: Sky Stream to holiday Van
It's telling you to reconnect it to your home internet within two weeks, noting they 'understand if you've taken it on holiday with you', otherwise they'll assume you're using it a different address and will charge you according to your contract.
Ergo it condones holiday use.
Any lawyer will confirm this.

Re: Sky Stream to holiday Van
I would observe that the op specifically asked if it was allowable to use the equipment at another location or whether a separate subscription would be required
the terms and conditions explicitly states any use outside the registered address would be a breach of the contract , so a separate subscription would be required
I further observe that any encouragement of ways to breach the terms and conditions is also a breach of community guidelines

Re: Sky Stream to holiday Van
We've now had clarification from sky what the two weeks mentioned in email communication refers to
it is referring to two weeks before the charge being applied to account and not giving permission to use for two weeks
