Re: Sky Stream pic pixelating and freezing.

Thanks for the detail that all makes sense.  I do think the first box I had did have problems but the last two didn't fix the issue.  I spend another hot on sky support call last night and my car has been escalated.  I'm waiting for a call back.

Sky still a loss on how they with sky they can't fix it.  But just out walking the dog and another test came to mind.

I'm currently watching Sky through the puck which is connected to 5g tethered through my phone directly after exiting Disney+ via the home screen no issues at all.  The scenerio that 100% of the time triggered the pixelation on the broadband.

Hmmmm! Maybe these issues are more down to your isp. This has happened previously with cheap supplied routers that some isp's provide. The problem is it's so difficult to track down many of the causes that some people have. For myself, I've had Stream/Glass for 18 months with little to no problems, so the system works as it should.

I'm with Sky for broadband and TV.

All the apps work flawlessly so something to do with Sky TV guide and connection to sky servers it seems.

If a picture breaks up on BBC, I can't watch live TV on the iPlayer app no problem, same for other channels.

Re: Sky Stream pic pixelating and freezing.

Does that include 4k UHD content?

Having had 2 x ISP's and with some pixelation problems solved by a reboot of the puck, there is clearly a problem with the puck..

Re: Sky Stream pic pixelating and freezing.

I also subscribed to the Sky streaming service recently.  In parallel I even purchased a brand new ultra HD Samsung TV which I thought would provide me with a premium experience!
I have spoken to Sky technical support teams for the last 2 weeks and the problem remains unresolved.
I have reset the puck and router numerous times. I was sent a replacement puck and the router.  I have done research and performed network checks myself.  The picture quality and wi-fi speed seemed to get worse in the late afternoon to early evening.  As a consequence the picture quality degraded until it was impossible to view the TV through Sky in the evening.  My theory was that the issue did not reside within the house but with the Sky server sending out the streaming service. I thought as more people switched on the TVs after work the server could no longer manage the load.
The case is on-going and Sky are still investigating.
I've paid for a service that has been very ineffective and by and large unusable.  I've also spent hours on the phone with Sky and unfortunately will leave me no choice but to terminate the service if a solution can not be found.
