you can't install any apps on the stream box - you just get some of the major apps pre installed- it's worth keeping the fire cube just in case there's an app you use that's not on stream

Each of those is a source device: they are intended to input into the television set independently.
Are you perhaps thinking of using the Sky Go app on the Amazon device until the puck is delivered?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreAs @Jporch316 says, simple HDMI passthrough should work: what you won't get, I think, is any of the potential system integration possible with some other devices daisychained in that way.

It's only because I'm using all my hdmi on my tv.So atm I have my virgin 360 box running through my firecube hdmi in.Im excited to change over to sky stream but if it doesn't work on my firecube I can always get myself a firestick.Want to keep my firecube or get a firestick for apps that are not on sky stream.

Oh yes of course it would. How silly am I.Oh well looks like I might be putting my firecube on ebay .Tbh there proberly is enough to watch on sky stream.

But a FireTV Cube runs the same FireTV OS as a Firestick and runs the same apps. Why would you want to swap a FireTV Cube for a Firestick?

Yes your right.I was trying to think of another way to get around it but changing to a firestick was not one of my smartest ideas.Still has to use a hdml so I've decided that if the sky stream does not work through the hdmi in on my firecube I will prioritise the sky stream and sell my firecube or get myself a hdmi splitter.

I will try it out and let you all know.Im surprised I cannot find any info out on this at all.Thankyou to everyone for your replies on this matter.

Just tried this for you using a Firecube 3rd gen. It works (almost) perfectly. I think I'm detecting the audio out of sync very slightly but I'm sure I could have solved this with a bit of tinkering somewhere along the chain of items which, in my case is puck to fire tv to LG oled to ARC to Denon amp.
