Thankyou for letting me know your sky stream is not recognised by your firecube 3rd gen.

Mine is working fine.  I wonder what the difference could be?
Have you tried rebooting the fire cube with the stream puck turned on and already connected to the cube?

Re: Sky Stream and Firecube 3rd Gen

Sorry to raise this from the dead. I've got the same setup and I'm wondering what you mean by "working fine"?

The hdmi passthru does work and I can switch between the inputs nicely enough. I just can't control the sky puck using voice commands or the fire remote (or by selecting the built in ir blaster in the cube). I've tried using it through a separate hdmi on my TV too but it's no better and I lose the overlay features that way.

Sky aren't likely to release the ir profile code and we can't train the codes like with harmony hub. I'd give up but I'm told this does work with Sky Q and my old Sky Q remotes do control the puck... So it seems like it kinda should work...?

Has anyone been able to control the sky puck via voice or fire remote?

Re: Sky Stream and Firecube 3rd Gen

@C+Hartwell

When I said that my Stream Puck was working fine when connected through the Fire Tv cube I was still using the Stream remote to control the puck and not attempting to use the Fire TV remote to control it.

Connecting the puck through the cube would only be to free up an HDMI port on the tv.  I merely tried this out as an experiment when the question was asked and don't actually have a need for this set up.
