Sky Stream STILL doesn’t work on WIFI

I initially signed up to Sky Steam in its infancy and within a week returned to Sky Q.

About 12 months ago I thought I'd give it another go and I was happy to find most bugs has been sorted.

Over the weekend I ordered another puck to use in the bedroom, because it's in the bedroom it needed to be connected to WIFI.

Surprise, surprise it doesn't work! I live in quite a small house, I have Sky Broadband delivering speeds of up to 109 Mbps.

Why, oh why can't Sky make a puck which will work happily with WIFI? I have Roku, Apple TV 4K, several smart TVs, smart speakers etc, etc which have no problems whatsoever.

Why do Sky advertise Whole Home if the pucks are only reliable when sat next to the router or connected by an Ethernet cable?

Anyway, it's now packaged back up and will soon be winging its way back.

I'll try my luck with a Freely puck later this year.

Regards DLN!

The pucks do work on wifi, I have 3, all connected to wifi and have no issues however that doesn't solve your problem. There must be something in your house that is interfering with the signal. Admittedly they are bandwidth hungry, how many other devices do you have in your home? Have you tried a speed test via the Netflix app to see how fast the connection speed is? @dnew76

Done the Netflix test, it stated 88 Mbps. As I said, I've many other devices working without fuss on WIFI, several in the bedroom where the Sky Puck refuses to work.

The Home Screen loads, as do the apps, but all channels simply show the 'waiting for your program to load' message.

Re: Sky Stream STILL doesn’t work on WIFI

It did a software update a couple of times when I was setting it up, so I assume it's on the latest firmware.

Anyway, I've now cancelled the Whole Home subscription and emailed Sky to tell them to remove the first monthly charge from my bill.

The puck is now back in its box, soon to be on its way back!

Re: Sky Stream STILL doesn’t work on WIFI

I don't blame you cancelling. Sky use to offer a first class service. Things have really changed not so good . Plus you can't record on the new streaming box. Best to cancel Sky before they cancel
