Hi.
Anyone else have constant probelms with Sky Stream? I have 350mb broadband and the stream is hard wired.
It randomly freezes, saying loading on live tv, randomly freezes and exits out of apps like 4OD and Netflix. I've started using the apps built into the TV because I'm sick of it. Can't wait to cancel.

Thanks for the reply.
Why would you want to use WiFi over a hard wired connection?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe kit is designed for WiFi ..... the network adapter is only a 100mbs port. It also eliminates a dodgy Ethernet cable or malfunctioning switch as the cause of your issues ......

Ok thanks.
Patch lead and switch are fine. Every other device works perfectly. TV hardwired into same switch works flawlessly along with PS5.
Sky really are backwards thinking if they give a device an Ethernet port but design it for WiFi. You can't beat a cable when streaming!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHaving good broadband is key to Sky Stream.
From your speed to your house you do seem to have a perfect speed.
See you are mentioning ethernet, which should be fine and would give you about an 80-90Mbps speed to each puck, if your household local bandwidth is not heavily hogged..
Can you do a network speed test on each of your Pucks.
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a few times, say a few minutes between tests.
What is your speed for each puck?
You are proabably aware, but always worth mentioning.
The puck much like a Sky Q box can for some customers suffer from interference in a number of ways at times. More often seen as an intermittent blip.
Not always a cure, but the following may be worth look in at for a possible way to resolve;
Make sure you have a good 6-8 inches free on all sides of the puck.
Do not stack the puck on top of any other device.
Make sure the puck is in the open, not tucked away in a cabinet or sat directly behind the TV.
Make sure you have no other devices that can cause interference closeby, like cordless phones, radiators, baby monitors, microwaves and the like.
I recently helped someone with a similar problem that had a Roku sat right next to their Sky Stream and moving away solved their issue.
Assume you are using the Sky supplied hdmi cable or a high speed equivalent one.
Plus, if you have not done so already, change both your pucks to following recommended settings set in Settings>
Turn wifi OFF under Network (f connected via ethernet).
Set Network standby mode to ON and Overnight power saving is OFF.

I only have 1 Sky stream box.
Interference is a good point, I never thought of that. Although I thought the whole idea was to hide them behind a wall mounted tv? Apart from the genius that designed those power supplies that stuck out at a right angle 😂

That's never a recommended location, particularly if it ends up next to the internal transformer for the television.
Also if running on ethernet it's best to have WiFi switched off rather than just not connected.

Thanks. Is that in the installers menu, like SkyQ?
