Sky Go and Stream/Glass

According to the below article an upgrade for Sky Go is on the way for better integration with Sky Glass/Stream and an 'expert' has suggested that Sky could use it to create a more rounded app.

Potential replacement for Now TV if they go down the route of something similar to waipu.tv for example for those that don't want an additional device?

I'll believe it when I see it. Personally wouldn't trust a thing that GB News or any of its "experts" claim.

It's been speculated for about 5 years that a new version of Sky Go would be on the way with integration for Stream & Glass. It's bound to happen at some point. Will it be later this year as they suggest? Possibly.

A lot of this article is just pure speculation and what an "expert" would want to see. All we know is what Sky announced publicly during the press event back in Feb where they announced the Disney/HBO/Hayu bundle, and that is that a new version of Sky Go which is expected to launch later this year that will integrate with Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream (https://www.t3.com/tech/tvs/sky-teases-major-product-launch-for-later-in-2026-and-its-a-further-nail...)  

Whilst we can all probably use logic to figure out what sort of at least base features/functionality are likely to be present for Sky Glass and Sky Stream devices on the new app, we aren't really going to know the full extent to what the new version will do until Sky launch it.

@MarkGoldsmith I think most people may have missed the sky go update news in the February event as Disney plus, Hayu and HBO may have stolen the show there.

Interesting times either way and I guess it's just a case of watching this space.

Yeah i agree - i was surprised they announced it at the same time.

Clearly GB News were completely unaware as they have written an article based on news from about 6 weeks prior.  ( although that may say more about GB News 🤣)

@Angel_Aka I am the same as you but it did get my attention on potential new things on the horizon, and I do like a gadget or update!

@MarkGoldsmith Maybe it was on purpose to keep it under wraps or maybe it slipped out intentionally to let us know that the evolutions aren't done yet lol
